Riding on the crest of a wave…
...enjoy it, but don’t rely on it!
04 September 2008
Complacency is one of the most common pitfalls in business today.
And for the smaller company in particular, it can be one of the most
detrimental.
It's a very unpredictable world that we live in and having excellent
skills or a good track record alone will not guarantee success.
Short term fixes, are exactly as they sound. And having excellent
skills, or a good track record of success, alone will not guarantee
existing clients will stay with you. Nor will it guarantee new
clients will find you.
There is a very close correlation between long term success and
effective marketing, that’s a fact. Effective marketing is about
being proactive; knowing your market, getting yourself “out there”
in a clear and concise fashion, and being fresh and up to date,
consistently.
If you are serious about running a successful business, you need a
clear cost-effective marketing strategy, one that gets you known and
constantly leads new clients to your door. You need a plan!
The aim of this fun and informative one-day workshop is to introduce you to the bare
essentials for successful marketing. It will teach you a few “tricks
of the trade”. Topics for discussion will include:
-
The
importance of defining who you are, what you do
-
Knowing your
market
-
Finding your
competitive edge
-
Creating that
essential concrete base
-
Looking at
different marketing methods
-
Pros and cons
of a website
-
What is a
good website
-
Developing
effective promotional material
-
Creating a
marketing campaign
The workshop will also be an opportunity to share knowledge,
experience and ideas with other participants. Questions will be
welcomed and encouraged.
